WP 109 – Choose Your Weapon
This course helps students select appropriate guns for recreation, sport, and defense. It is oriented primarily toward handguns.
Students explore the three key factors related to firearm selection:
- Function
- Familiarity
- Fit
Students examine and handle various types of guns in the classroom. The course is designed to allow an individual to make an informed gun buying decision. NOT to learn how to shoot. Guns are available at the end of the classroom session for test firing on the range. Students are responsible for purchasing ammunition to test rental guns.
Class size: minimum 3, maximum 12
Prerequisite: NRA First Steps or Equivalent
Attendees should have:
- General ideas regarding what their guns will be used for
- Eye and hearing protection
