WP 202: Basic Drawing from a Holster

This course is an introduction to the steps and techniques necessary for safe movement of a pistol from holster to target, then back to the holster. The holster used will be of the belt, paddle, or inside the pants style worn at the hip on the strong side (gun hand). Successful completion of this course prepares students to advance to WP 203, Concealed Carry Drawing from a Holster.

Class size: minimum 3, maximum 8

Prerequisite: successful completion of shooting proficiency test

Attendees should have:

  • Suitable holster as described above
  • Personal defense pistol that fits the holster
  • 100 rounds of practice ammunition
  • Hearing and eye protection

Duration:

  • Classroom: 1:00
  • Range: 2:00
